Role

Mobile app design

Challenge

Design useful mobile product experiences across sports, TV, trivia, and event planning contexts.

Approach

Create focused interfaces for live event planning, mobile trivia, and simultaneous mobile and TV interactions.

Outcome

A collection of product work that includes Atmosphere Trivia and OPlanner, which reached the #2 spot in the App Store sports category during the 2012 London Olympics.

Atmosphere Trivia Game 2024

Atmosphere TV is one of the largest streaming TV platforms built for businesses. They wanted to create a fun game to engage viewers, and Solitary Man helped design the mobile version of the trivia experience, which runs on mobile and TV devices simultaneously.

2014 Sochi Olympics

After the success of the 2012 OPlanner app, the product was recreated for the Sochi Olympics in 2014 with an updated UI/UX and additional features to help users find everything they needed in one place.

2012 London Olympics

OPlanner helped people around the world schedule and track 2012 London Olympics events through a simple sliding interface for sports, dates, and favorites.

As far as we know, this was the first app of its kind, and the interface pattern has since become commonplace across mobile products.

OPlanner launched a couple of days before the games officially began and reached the #2 spot in the App Store sports category with 30K+ users, ranking above official Olympic apps from brands such as Reuters and NBC.

Designing across unusual product contexts

The miscellaneous collection shows how Solitary Man adapts product thinking across categories: live events, streaming TV, mobile games, and sports scheduling.

The shared thread is clarity. Each product had to reduce a complex environment into a mobile experience people could understand quickly.
